What is the Google Ad Grant?
A Google programme that gives eligible non-profits up to $10,000 a month in Google Search ads, free. You do not pay for the clicks; you do need an account that keeps meeting Google’s rules, which is the part we take over.
Does our foundation qualify?
In the Netherlands you need valid charity status (ANBI) and an approved Google for Nonprofits account. Governments, hospitals and healthcare organisations, schools and universities are excluded by Google. If you are not sure, send us a message and we check it before you spend an evening on the application.
Do you apply for it, or do we?
We do. We arrange Google for Nonprofits and Ad Grants, set up the account the way Google requires and start the campaigns. You supply the charity details we cannot look up ourselves.
Why do so many grant accounts stop working?
Because the grant has conditions that need monthly attention: a minimum click-through rate of 5%, at least two ad groups per campaign with two ads each, and a site that stays online and fast. Miss those and the account is paused. Keeping them met is exactly what we do every day.
Can we spend more than the grant?
Yes. The grant covers search ads up to $10,000 a month, at a fixed maximum cost per click unless the account uses conversion-based bidding. If you want to go further we can add a paid campaign, but for most foundations the grant is not even fully used yet.
What does it cost us?
A flat monthly rate that starts at €19, first month free, cancel monthly. That covers your website, SEO, content and conversion. The Ad Grant, applied for and kept running, is included in Maximize at €249 a month. The ad budget itself stays Google’s.
Where is our data held?
Inside Europe. Your site runs at Hetzner on servers in Germany, and the enquiries that come in sit on those same servers, so what your visitors leave behind falls under the GDPR. The team is in Rotterdam. The exception is Google itself: the moment you advertise with the Ad Grant, Google processes those clicks, and that comes with the programme.
Do you work with volunteers?
Happily. You message us on WhatsApp — text or a voice note — and we do the work. No dashboard to learn, no handover when a volunteer moves on.
